Get Those Clothes off the Racks and onto Their Backs!

January 11th, 2012

SI Retail has a complete range of clothing and garment racks to suit any store, from the no-fuss mobile clothes racks to the classier 4-way clothes racks. Looking for an affordable solution? Choose a rack to suit your needs from the examples below.

For temporary displays of sale or promotional items, the mobile garment rack is a great choice as its mobility allows it to be placed in prominent positions, such as outside the storefront. Mobile garment racks are available with either a single arm or a double arm and are set on solid castors for easy transport. The height of the clothing rack and the width of the hangrail are both adjustable, making the mobile garment rack extremely versatile.

Need something to utilise that unused window or wall space? The half round rack – which can be placed against walls or windows – is perfectly suited to storefront window displays and is another great product for fashion retailers to display merchandise near the front of the store or outside the shop front. The castors make it easy to move around as necessary, too.

To get a 360-degree view of your garments, try the ring clothes rack or tri-level clothes rack. The ring rack allows you to display your garments from all angles and has an adjustable height from 1080 mm to 1540 mm. The tri-level rack lets you display your garments at three different levels on the one rack. Castors can be added to turn this into a portable clothes rack, and its folding frame makes it very easy to store away when not in use.

If you need a garment rack to make the most of a smaller space, the 2-way garment rack will be right for you. Set on a 300 mm x 380 mm solid base, the 2-way garment rack is adjustable up to 1800 mm and can come in any one of three different configurations: all straight arms, all waterfall arms, or a mixture of both. The choice is yours! The same applies to the 4-way garment rack, which also packs flat for easy shipping and storage. Castors can be added to the 4-way garment rack to make it portable, too.

Last but not least is SI Retail’s lingerie rack. The lingerie rack is perfect for smaller garments and for maximising your product displays. Its folding frame allows for easy storage, and castors can be added to transform the lingerie rack into a portable clothes rack. The lingerie rack comes with 16 twist-on arms.

SI Retail also customises garment racks in a range of colours and styles to suit your stores. You can also work out a direct shipment plan to your outlets with the SI Direct business model – guaranteed to save you time and money.

Call SI Retail today on 1800 211 122, or visit www.sishop.com.au to check out our full range of clothing racks.

Are You Prepared for the Post-Christmas Sales?

January 3rd, 2012

Everyone expects sales after Christmas, and they’ll be scouring the stores looking for deals. What will you do to make the most of your customers’ post-Christmas splurging?

Dump bins are a convenient and popular display stand that you can use to showcase your ‘on sale’ stock. What’s more, they are suitable for any kind of retailer. Dump bins are available in black or white and also come with or without the base on castors. The bases with castors make the dump bins easily transportable, allowing you to display your sale stock outside your store front, in prime position for passers-by. A3 and A4 acrylic signage can also be added to highlight price points and specials. Plus, dump bins are also collapsible, which facilitates storage after use.

Mobile garment racks are also ideal for getting your ‘on sale’ stock in front of passers-by, by placing them outside your store front. Available with a single arm or double arms, the height and width of SI Retail’s mobile garment racks can be adjusted. Round tube sign clamps and A4 portrait or A5 landscape sign holders can also be added to the garment rack to attract attention and provide further pricing or product information. SI Retail’s mobile garment racks are easy to set up and can be flat packed after use for easy storage.

SI Retail has a complete range of garment racks available. Visit www.sishop.com.au to view the whole range!

Handy Hints to Increase Your Sales this Christmas #4: Sales Tips

December 19th, 2011

‘Cross-merchandising’ is the practice of placing items from different categories within a store together in the one display. Clever use of cross-merchandising in window and store displays can really assist in increasing your sales, especially if you ‘think for your customers’ by offering creative combinations. For instance, show them the jewellery with the dress, or the handbag with the shoes, or the tennis racket with the tennis outfit. By putting these combinations together, you can draw your customers’ attention to items they may otherwise miss, thereby increasing impulse sales opportunities. If your mannequins are wearing a complete outfit, from top to bottom, customers are more inclined to buy the outfit as a whole, rather than try to piece an outfit together themselves.

Speaking of mannequins, remember to have fun with them! Create interesting scenes or humorous poses to attract your customers’ attention, and make sure they are easily visible and well lit. SI Retail have a range of mannequins available to suit all stores, so give us a call to see what we have for you!

‘Triangle balance’ refers to the art of constructing your displays in a triangular shape, with the featured product taking pride of place at the apex of the triangle. This technique naturally draws the shopper’s eye to your prime product. If your products are all the same size, SI Retail’s acrylic risers can be very beneficial in creating this triangular effect.

Use the ‘hot spots’ in your store to promote new arrivals or products you have in large quantities. Monitor your hot spots and manage the product. If you notice that products in the hot spots aren’t selling, then try other products instead and check that the hot spot is both signed and lit well.

Ensure that all products are clearly marked with a price. A lot of people will simply put a product down and walk out of the store rather than stop and ask the shop assistant for a price. This can be easily avoided, so don’t let it happen to you.

One of the most important things you can do is to ensure that your sales staff are fully trained before Christmas. Staff need extensive knowledge of all the products in stock and should be able to answer any questions that customers may have. Great customer service skills are vital in securing sales and return business. It is also beneficial to train your staff in upselling techniques.

Needless to say, these ideas can benefit your store all year round – not just at Christmas-time.

Handy Hints to Increase Your Sales this Christmas #3: Proper Signage

December 14th, 2011

As mentioned in our previous article, the combination of lighting and signage can make a big difference in drawing your customers to the ‘cold spots’ in your store and encouraging them to inspect all of your products.

So, how can you be sure that your ticketing and signage is having the desired effect? The key points to remember are that effective ticketing and signage is always easy to read, contains a simple message, and is well placed in relation to the associated display.

Wherever possible, tickets should always be positioned at eye level so that they are not overlooked. SI Retail’s range of ticket frames is especially suited to this purpose. The fixed ticket frames stand at either 150 mm or 300 mm and can be placed on shelves (as can our acrylic sign holders, which come in various sizes). The telescopic ticket frames are a great floor signage option, as they come with an adjustable stem that stands from 300 mm to 500 mm.

Care needs to be taken, though, to ensure that your ticketing and signage never blocks your product displays. Using magnetic ticket frames and hanging ticket frames will help to ensure that your signs are still at eye level without obscuring the products they are advertising.

The size of the ticket that you use should also be consistent with the size of the display. For example, if you have a bulk display, you should have a larger ticket. Our acrylic sign holders come in varying sizes, from A7 up to A3, and can help you to achieve this consistency.

Don’t clutter your store: remember, ‘less is more’! Cluttered stores can be a big ‘turn-off’ for customers, so avoid the urge to put all of your stock on display. Instead, only put some of your stock out and incorporate signs into the display to advise customers of the other styles, colours, and sizes that may be available. Again, our acrylic sign holders are perfect for this job, as are our sign holders with sign clamps.

Make sure that all items in your store are clearly marked with a price, and don’t forget to draw attention to your ‘impulse items’ by placing them in a convenient, eye-catching position (such as at the end of an aisle or on the counter) and signing them appropriately.

Research has shown that most people don’t like seeing cash registers when they enter a store because it reminds them that they are spending money. So disguise your cash register by transforming your counter into its own display by using multi-rack counter display stands and counter ticket frames.

Handy Hints to Increase Your Sales this Christmas #2: Traffic Flow

December 6th, 2011

It’s now time to think a little differently in terms of your store displays and promotions for Christmas.

Once shoppers are in your store, you want to ensure that they see everything you have on offer.  The best way to do this is to position your products so that they flow logically, and angle your displays in a way that directs your customers to the back of your store.  Placing high-demand products at the back will also help to draw customers through the store.

Are there areas that customers tend to gravitate towards or completely avoid? These are the areas you need to pay attention to. Your initial store design may now be somewhat outdated in terms of traffic flow, so it is worth monitoring the store flow.

The combination of lighting and signage can make a big difference in drawing people to your ‘cold spots’ – those areas with little traffic flow.  SI Retail’s hanging signage such as poster grips, quad-ramas and tri-ramas work well to draw attention to your ‘cold spots’ – but remember to keep demand items in ‘cold spots’ and save the high-profit items for the ‘hot spots’ with high traffic.  The products that you want to push the most should always be located in your ‘hot spots’.

Did you know that roughly 90% of your customers will turn right and walk through your store in a counterclockwise direction?  Why not utilise this knowledge when setting up your displays, to ensure that the highest portion of your customers see your featured products?  However, don’t place your best products right inside the entrance, as customers need a ‘decompression zone’ to adjust to the environment of your store, and items are often missed when placed in this area.

You also want to make sure that your customers’ shopping experience is as comfortable as possible so that they spend more time in the store and, ultimately, spend more money on your products.  So ensure that there is easy access to all of your products, and that any inaccessible retail space you may have is used for displays to highlight or showcase your products.

Handy Hints to Increase Your Sales this Christmas #1: Window Displays

December 1st, 2011

We all know that Christmas is the biggest time for retail sales, but what can you do to make sure you get the most out of the silly season?

Getting shoppers into your store is the first step.  You only have a few seconds to grab a shopper’s attention and lure them into your store, and window displays can make or break a shopper’s decision to enter.  Remember, a bunch of things shoved randomly in a window is not a window display.

So what are the essential elements of an effective window display?  Objects, light and space.

The LivewireTM cable display system is a stylish and space-saving ceiling to floor shelving option that is ideal for showcasing your prime products.  Choose one focal point per shelf and ensure that everything else only acts as an accompaniment to that focal point.  Too much clutter can detract from your featured products.

SI Retail’s acrylic risers allow you to create varying depths and heights for you to display your featured products, which will catch shoppers’ eyes.

These products should also be enhanced with smart lighting that complements both day and night.

Make sure you are fully stocked with the products that you are promoting in your displays, and avoid promoting “limited edition” items.  It is also advisable to place widely appealing and affordable products in your window display, so that customers are not discouraged by high prices and eclectic tastes.

If you are working to a theme, such as Christmas, keep this in mind while decorating your display, and stay within the one colour scheme or choose opposite colours for effect.  Consistency is always highly effective.

When setting up your display, view it from outside as often as you can to ensure that it is working, and continue to tweak it as necessary. This may seem time-consuming, but your hard work will ultimately pay off through increased traffic and sales.  And don’t be afraid to ask your customers what they think; their feedback can be invaluable.

Above all, remember to keep those windows clean!  Don’t let those grubby finger marks ruin your hard work.

Promote Your Message Effectively with Customised Banner Stands

November 29th, 2011

Pull-up banner stands from SI Retail are the perfect promotional signage option. Popularly seen at trade shows and exhibitions, banner stands are also ideal for shopping centres, retail stores, events and showrooms.

SI Retail can custom print your banners for you, and by using their existing artwork templates you can be assured that your images will fit onto the banners exactly as you want them to.  SI Retail’s custom made banners are printed at 600 x 600 dpi on 210 gsm polypropylene, which is pre-laminated to prevent the edges from curling.

Promotional signage companies who do their own printing can purchase the banner stand kits on their own, which include the base, pole and a carry bag.

Banner stand bases are available in Standard and Deluxe styles.  Both are easily erected, stand around 2 m tall and come in widths of either 850 mm or 1200 mm.  When packed away, these banner systems are compact, portable and weigh in at just over 6 kgs.

To find out more about banner stands, contact SI Retail on 1800 211 122 or visit www.sishop.com.au to order online.

Pegboard and Metalboard Display Hooks: Two Very Similar Hooks, One Big Difference!

November 21st, 2011

While the display hooks for pegboards and metalboards may look almost identical, there is one very big difference.  The length of the prong that supports the hook in the board is longer on the pegboard display hook than on the metalboard display hook.  The reason for this is that the pegboards are made of a thicker material than the metalboards, so the prongs need to be longer to match the board’s thickness.

It is, therefore, imperative to choose the right hooks for the right board, otherwise they won’t fit.

Metalboards are not the only boards that are made out of metal.  Pegboards can also be made out of metal, which is where the confusion often lies.  To avoid choosing the wrong hooks for your board, keep these differences in mind:

  • Metalboards are made from a metal sheet about 1mm thick and feature flat ‘hole-punches’.
  • Pegboards are a lot thicker, and the pegboards that are made out of metal have concave holes on one side that spout into convex holes on the other side.

Pegboards go by many different names, including ‘metal pegboards’, ‘punch panels’, ‘volcano boards’ and ‘crater boards’.

Increase Your Sales with Ticket Frames – the Simple Signage Solution!

November 7th, 2011

Shoppers are more inclined to purchase products when clear pricing and product information is readily presented to them.  Ticket frame sign holders are the versatile signage option that can put this information in front of your customers – thus increasing your sales!

SI Retail’s telescopic and fixed ticket frames are the economical floor signage option.  Available in red, black and blue and in both A4 and A3 sizes, their sturdy bases avoid flimsy-looking signage displays.  The fixed ticket frames are either 150 mm or 300 mm high, while the telescopic ticket frames come with an adjustable stem so that you can set them to any height (up to 600 mm).

Our new magnetic ticket frames come with a magnetic clip that will attach to any metal surface.  These new signage systems are available in black only in both A4 and A3 sizes.  This new design can be manipulated as desired to show your ticket at various angles.  Magnetic ticket frames are great for garment racks or metal gondolas.

Hanging ticket frames are the ideal signage option for hanging product information from cords and wire baskets.  The two clear hanging clips can be easily attached to and removed from the ticket frame, which is available in both A4 and A3 sizes.  Hanging ticket frames are the perfect signage systems to use in fresh produce displays or livewire freestanding shelf displays.

Counter ticket frames are a simple and effective signage solution for counter and table use, or on gondolas. The two clear clip-feet are easily attached to and removed from the A4 or A3 sized ticket frames, which come in either red, black or blue.

If our stock standard colours don’t match your visual identity, don’t worry!  We will happily custom-create ticket frames to suit your needs.

SI Retail can help you with pre-printed tickets too, so why not give us a call on 1800 211 122 to discuss how our signage services can help you.  Alternatively, you can visit www.sishop.com.au to shop online.
